Computer registration
Each computer in the local computer network of SDaJ UPJS(dormitory network) has to be registered. Registration requires filling in a registration form(there is no need to register personally at the office). Unregistered device has restricted Access to only sites of SANET (e.g. UPJŠ web sites, AIS, dining system). When you replace a computer, computer motherboard or network card, it is required to register again and let us know(notify us) about this change using
Report System .

Network loading
By the rules of „Operating rules for the network of Students Hostels and Canteens of UPJS in Kosice“ and „Rules for use of computer network SAUNET“ user can not overload the network long-termed. That is why everybody is required to watch transmission of the data. In case of breaking this rule, user will be sanctionated.
Security
Each person is responsible for device connected to local area network by him/her. Connected device, if it is possible due to the type and purpose of the device, has to be protected from malicious software. If network administrator finds out, that some device is infected and dangerous for the network, the
device will be disconnected and the
owner (the one who has connected the device) of the device
will be punished according rules.
Wifi router
Due to a lot of problems caused by the wifi routers, the
usage of wifi routers has been not allowed in local area network of SDaJ UPJS since academic year 2011/2012. Instead of them, you can use a non-manageable switch without previous acknowledgment of network administrators.
In case that you violate this prohibition, the sanctions will be applied in accordance with the rules of local area network of SDaJ UPJS.
You will be disconnected from the local area network for a
period of two weeks .
